Our Story

How it came to be…

It all began in 1971 when Dave Loewen and his wife were looking for a place to raise their young family. Although they lived in Winnipeg at the time, they wanted their children to grow up in the countryside where they would develop an appreciation for a full day’s work and come to understand how to build a life by hand.

Although the property itself wasn’t listed on the market at the time, Dave and his family were fortunate enough to make an offer on it by what could only be described as divine intervention. Shortly after getting possession of the ranch, Dave and his family developed the business and continued being entrepreneurial at every turn by finding markets for trailers, gates, feeders, waterers, and much more. However, at their core, they always had an affinity for horses.

For over 50 years, Dave operated Miracle Ranch with the help of his daughter Phyllis. Over the years, they took countless people on trail rides, provided riding lessons to people of all ages, and hosted birthday parties for various groups. But after operating the ranch 7 days per week for so many years, Dave and Phyllis were ready to start the next chapter of their lives and began searching for someone to take over the ranch. A few years later, they were delighted to find just the right people.

In June of 2022, a Winnipeg group of horse enthusiasts took over the management and day-to-day operations of Miracle Ranch. Through strategic hiring, marketing, and innovation, they plan to build on the legacy that was so carefully established by Dave and his family, bringing the ranch into its next chapter.
